Taraf de Strigoi
Balkan Folk & Lăutărească
Taraf de Strigoi is the unruly voice of Pishkey Music.
Named after the strigoi, the restless dead of Romanian folklore, this ensemble is the surprise inside Rouxandra's dark fairytale: Romanian and Balkan folk songs set for a wedding, not a wake.
Their sound is Balkan Folk and lăutărească: fiddle, accordion and voices pitched for the dance floor.
A ghost story that forgot to be sad.
They didn't come to scare you. They came to make you dance.
