Fay Dodo joins Pishkeyland
Haitian Roots and Afro-Groove, from Ayiti.
Pishkey Music today announced the addition of Fay Dodo to its roster, expanding the label's growing constellation of sonic worlds with a Haitian Roots and Afro-Groove sound. Her music is rooted in Ayiti, Pishkeyland's highly anticipated, immersive Caribbean sector. A debut single from Fay Dodo is already in the works.
"I have a thoroughly debilitating fear of commercial aviation," said George Pishkey, founder and self-appointed architect of Pishkey Music. "During a violently turbulent flight back from the Caribbean, my flight attendant, Fay, started singing a traditional melody to keep us both from hyperventilating. Not only was her vocal range extraordinary, but I discovered she was also terrified of flying and only took the job as radical exposure therapy."
"Anyone willing to white-knuckle their way through their deepest personal traumas just to collect a steady paycheck is exactly the kind of resilient visionary I want managing our Caribbean assets," Pishkey continued. "Ayiti is projected to be a massive, high-traffic sector of the park. Fay Dodo holds the keys now—she just needs to make sure those turnstiles keep spinning."
Fay Dodo becomes the third conceptual resident of Pishkeyland—a label built on the foundational premise that every artist deserves not just a sound, but a highly monetizable world of their own.
